Program Hypotable: READMEThere are two files which can be downloaded:
In March 2003, modifications were made to the source code for fortran files remodl.f, ttimes.f, and libtau.f so that theprograms in this package could comple and run on PC Linux (Red Hat 8.0) using the GNU g77 compiler. On Unix, one can both uncompress and untar a file XXX.tgz with a single command:
gzip -d -c XXX.tgz | tar -xf - using the GNU gzip command (included with Solaris 2.8). On MACs or PCs there are utilities which accomplish the same operations some while downloading the files. Files and/or directory trees compressed into a file named XXX.zip using the zip (PKZIP) utility can be uncompressed and expanded using the command
unzip XXX.zip The zip and unzip utilities come on Sun Solaris 2.8 and on are included in utilities on most PC and Mac installations. If one does not have them already, they can be found for most operating systems at Info-Zip.org. I do not use PCs, but I succeeded in creating the IASP91 tables for use in my FOCMEC package. However, the tables are compiler dependent and the software is not robust for models other than iasp91, so I have chosen not to provide them here. The USGS ftp server has source code and instructions for building the iasp91 software package on a PC. The source for Hypotable is written in basic Fortran 77 so should compile on other platforms with only minor modifications. |
